Ephesians 4:11-13

11It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, 12to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” (NIV)

Why were some given to be apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teacher? To prepare God’s people (vs. 12). Prepare them for what? To prepare them for “works of service.” Why? To build up the body of Christ. For how long? Until we reach unity in the faith and knowledge of the Son and become mature.

Reading this, how we attain unity? Well, it doesn’t lay out a twelve step plan, but it does give at the very least a starting point and that is to serve together. Regardless of what congregation we meet with, we should all be involved in service together. We are all parts of the same Body. We can all serve together. This will bring unity.

The purpose of this site is to encourage unity in the Body. The focus going forward will be to post opportunities for people to serve together. The only criteria are 1) it presents an opportunity to share the love of Christ with the unsaved, 2) that it is focused on serving and loving others, 3) it is open to anyone from any congregation.

If you have an opportunity that meets these criteria, please email me.
